Special Collections Available By Limited Appointment

If you are interested in arranging onsite visits to view archival material from Vic Libraries’ Special Collections, housed at E.J. Pratt Library, please email: r [dot] kail [at] utoronto [dot] ca

We will make efforts to accommodate as many requests as possible. The Library does remain closed, however, and we are limited in the number of appointments we can make at this time. Wait times for appointments may therefore be longer than usual.

Victoria University Library maintains a number of special collections in various subject areas. Included in the collections are printed books, manuscripts and papers. Many of the items are catalogued, and inventories and finding aids are available for the manuscript collections.

Advance notice of 24 hours is required for special collection use. Retrievals take place at 10 am, 1 pm and 3 pm daily. The collections are available for use from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.

Materials in special collections are for use in the Library only and do not circulate. Advance notice is required for manuscript use. Please see Reference Assistance to inquire about any of our special collections.
