Typescripts/transcripts of The National Forum and The Citizen's Forum in which Kenneth R. Wilson participated. The forums were broadcast on CBC radio and the subjects were: "Is Canada Over-Governed?," "What Economic Agreements are Needed?," "Has Big Business Too Much Power," and "St. Lawrence Seaway: What does it mean to Canada and the U.S.A?"

Reports were written by Kenneth R. Wilson to his colleagues/boss at the Financial Post about trips/assignments that he went on.  Report titles are "West Trip, September 1950" and "European Trip, 1951."   There is also a typed letter to his family about his assignment covering the Royal Tour in 1939.

Scrapbook contains items from Kenneth R. Wilson's school days at Rutland House, Brantford Collegiate Institute and Victoria College as well as items from his career as a journalist and editor. Includes report cards, photographs, ephemera (memorabilia) from dances, events, newspaper clippings, etc.   

The scrapbook is fragile and is currently restricted for preservation reason, however a scan has been made and is available online.

11James Wilson notebook1791

Notebook belonging to Wilson's great-grandfather, James Wilson, a Church of Scotland minister in Gamrie, Banffshire, Scotland. Contains notes made by James throughout the 1780s including notes on moral philosophy used in sermon preparation, rents paid by farmers who used the croft connected to the parish manse for grazing, details of battles in which his sons George and Hugh took part between 1755 and 1768, accounts of gifts and other transactions.

Currently in conservation for treatment and rehousing.

The file also includes a reprint of an article from The Times Educational Supplement with a review of the book (1954).

File contains records relating to St. Christopher’s College of Education, a school founded in Madras (Chennai), India by Nora Brockway, Kenneth R. Wilson’s cousin, to train women teachers. Includes a letter from Miss S. Balreddy to L.R. [Leonora Ramsay] Wilson (Kenneth Wilson’s older sister), and a copy of the St. Christopher’s College of Education Diamond Jubilee College Report.

Includes handwritten notes, photocopies of book pages, a copy of the 1881 British census, copies of burial registries for George Ramsay Wilson, a letter written by Lois Sutherland addressed to Mrs. Arnold, a copy of Nora’s essay “In Search of my Great Grandparents”, and Nora’s notes on her visit to the Church of Gamrie in 1977.

NOTE: “In Search of my Great Grandparents” is a chapter from Nora’s memoir Reluctant Pioneer.
