He attended grade school in Toronto, and high school at Harbord Collegiate Institute in Toronto. He received a B.A. from Victoria University at the University of Toronto in 1915, an M.A. in 1923, and a Ph.D. in 1925. He was active in World War I as part of the Canadian Expeditionary Force from 1916-1918. He was a teacher in a one room county school at Baraca, Alberta in 1915, and lectured in English at the University of Alberta from 1919-1922, and at the University of Toronto from 1922-1925. In 1925, he began as Chairman of the Department of English at Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania. From 1948-1967 he was a staff historian with the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. Administrative HistoryEdward Wilson Wallace, Jr is the son of Edward Wilson Wallace and Rose Wallace (Cullen), daughter of Rev. Thomas Cullen. He is the grandson of Francis Huston Wallace and Joy Wilson. EW Wallace Jr. was killed in action during WWII while serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Administrative HistoryMuriel Joy Wilson Wallace (1885-1974) is the daughter of Francis Huston Wallace and Joy Wilson. She was a high school teacher in Peterborough, Ontario and at Bloor Collegiate Institute in Toronto. Scope and ContentFonds consists of various diaries, journals, correspondence, manuscripts, photographs/negatives, regarding travel, careers, school, and life. Includes documentation about travel to China, Europe, World War I, Go Home Bay and the Madawaska Club (cottage community associated with the University of Toronto).
