Capitalism 2.0 and Copernicus

Humanity is currently undergoing a neo-Copernican revolution, one so profound that we scarcely comprehend its implications for Capitalism and Western liberal democratic institutions. Through scientific inquiry, Copernicus revealed hidden celestial dynamics, thus displacing humans from the center of the universe. Marjorie Brans argues that the Copernican Revolution was incomplete. Climate change, Occupy Wall Street, #MeToo, #BlackLivesMatter and other social movements directly challenge the "cosmological" map currently guiding the world's dominant economic, social, cultural, and environmental institutions.

Join us to explore how growing political polarization is less about incivility and more a struggle over the economic map and what it will look like going forward.
