In 1919, the title was changed to Senior Tutor (also known as Senior Tutor in Residence), and in 1969 the position became Dean of Men. In 1990, the positions of Dean of Men and Dean of Women were replaced by a Dean of Students. The duties of the Dean of Men included dealing with personal and academic problems of students living in Burwash Hall and overseeing its administration.
