He moved to Toronto as a child and later studied at Victoria University and Columbia University before being appointed to China missions in 1906. After serving in various capacities in China missions, he was appointed Chancellor and President of Victoria University in 1929, serving until his death in 1941. While at the University, he was also Professor of Missions at Emmanuel College, 1932-1941. Wallace's first wife was Rose Cullen (the daughter of Rev. Thomas Cullen) who passed away in 1924 while her and Edward were working in China. He married his second wife, Velma Mary Hamill, in 1929. Scope and ContentFonds consists of manuscripts, notes, outlines, bibliographies, research material and other records for Emmanuel College course regarding missions, 1932-1941 (Box 1); and manuscript of "The expansion of Christianity: a history of missions," [193-?] (Box 2).
