A digital library including Croatian, Estonian, Finnish, Hungarian, Polish, Serbian, Ukrainian, Serbo-Croatian, Latvian, and Lithuanian newspapers. The collection can be browsed by a specific issue or searched by keyword and subject.

Multicultural Canada

An extensive, searchable online collection of foreign language newspapers, arranged alphabetically by title.

Multicultural History Society of Ontario holds one of the most comprehensive collections of ethnic newspapers in Canada, many on microfilm. A complete inventory of available titles is online.

National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada (NEPMCC) maintains a list of currently published foreign-language newspapers in Ontario.

Periodical Databases

Canadian Newsstream

Full-text articles published in both local and national newspapers (Toronto Star, National Post, The Globe and Mail). A very useful resource for locating media coverage of the annual festival. However, the database does not include a complete back-issue archive of each newspaper.

Search results can be sorted by a specific title of a periodical (such as the Toronto Star) and the type of publication it contains (article, feature, etc.).

Canadian Periodicals Index Quarterly (CPI.Q)

The database contains full-text articles from popular and academic publications that are not available in Canadian Newsstream. It covers a broad range of subjects including current events, health, technology, the arts, history, literature, culture and business.

Factiva

Full-text articles from many local and national papers not available from Canadian Newsstream and the CPI.Q, including the Toronto Sun, the Globe and Mail and others.
