Biographical Sketch

Walter Theodore Brown (1883–1954) graduated from Victoria College in 1908 (M.A.) and received a Ph.d degree from Harvard University in 1912. From 1913 to 1928, he taught in Ethics at Victoria College, before serving as head of the Department of Religion at Yale University, 1928–1932. In 1932, he returned to Victoria College as Principal, remaining in that position until 1944. From 1941 to 1949 he served as President of Victoria University, but was forced to retire due to poor health. He died in 1954.

Fonds consists of the following series: correspondence, 1912-1949; addresses, articles and other records, [1903?]–1945; personal material, 1912–1954.
