Sample Essay Topic: Demarcation

One of the problems that we have tackled in this course is the demarcation problem.

Do you think that there is any hope for a criterion that will enable us to draw a line between science and pseudoscience (such as creationism, astrology, and homeopathy?) Or, is this problem a non-starter from the beginning?

Requirements

You need to locate and cite at least several (five to eight, or more) scholarly articles and books somewhat related to your topic.

These must be academic publications, best retrieved through the library catalogue and an appropriate scholarly journal database (including Philosopher’s Index).

Your essay should answer the questions raised in the assignment description and be informed by the best sources that you can find.
