People's Workshop number 3
In France in May 1968, student demonstrations led  to worker sit-in strikes and to the widespread general strike which threatened the French political regime. The demand was for the reorganization of French social and political life. At the École de  Beux Arts which was occupied by students, posters were produced by means of a silkscreen method. These posters later became collectors' items. Victoria University Library owns 19 posters donated by Professor Emeritus Paul Bouissac. See Paris, May 1968: icônes de la révolution / Icons of Revolution, a poster exhibition that took place at Victoria University Library March 13 -
May 4,1998.
