Scanning
Overview
Four workstations that are equipped with scanners are available in the South Information Commons. Accompanying software includes image editing (including Adobe Photoshop), web page markup, and optical character recognition (OCR), a function that allows you to turn a printed document into editable text.
Copyright information:
Any images as well as text may be subject to copyright, and should not be scanned without prior permission of the
copyright holder(s). Unauthorized copying of any such material is strictly forbidden.

Scanning on the Photocopiers
The copier on the lower floor supports black and white copying and scanning and accepts both TCard and cash for payment. The copiers on the main and second floors allow for black and white as well as colour copying and also support scanning, but only accept TCard.
The photocopiers scan multiple formats including Slim PDF which is suitable for scanning multiple pages into a single file.
Please consult our Guide to Scanning on the Photocopiers (PDF) for basic set of instructions. Printed copies of the brochure are available at the IT Support Desk.
Scanning costs three cents per page and users must supply their own USB keys to save their files.
