Desktop Computers
Overview
Computer workstations are located on the main floor of the library and on the second floor. The machines are available on a first-come, first-served basis. All users are required to sign in with their UTORid (or a temporary login, where applicable) in order to access a workstation.
Eligible workstation users:
• U of T students, staff and faculty
• ICICLE guest account holders
• UTL direct borrowers
The workstations in front of the Inquiry Desk are located in the North Information Commons and are equipped with Internet access, library catalogue, and electronic library resources.

Office software, including word processing, is available on the workstations towards the back, in the South Information Commons, in front of the IT Support Desk. They also have access to the library catalogue, electronic library resources, and the Internet.
There are additional full service workstations at both ends of the second floor. Catalogue lookup machines are available on every floor.

All of our workstations use Microsoft Windows XP. In addition, following software is available on all computers:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0
- Mozilla Firefox 3.6.0
- Microsoft Office Professional XP SP3 (with full multi-language support), including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Microsoft Office 2007 SP2 Compatibility Pack
- Windows Media Player 11.0.5721.5146
- Windows Media Player Classic 6.4.9.1
