Scope and content

Series consists of Coleridge family correspondence (1933–1985), correspondence with funding agencies regarding foundations (notably the Bollingen Foundation and scholarships (1937–1987), publishers (1936–1975) and various institutions. Also included are files relating to the history of the notebooks (1930–1970) containing correspondence with Rupert Hart–Davis and Gertrude M. Boyle, letters of recommendation (1952–1986), correspondence pertaining to the STC Notebooks (1948–1987), correspondence with Merton Christenson (1968–1985) and correspondence pertaining to the Collected Works (1955–1987).
